Incredible lazy weekend...

I had the most insanely lazy weekend!! I honestly did nothing really productive AT all. Normally this does freak me out as I do like to know that at least i'm getting something done even if i'm relaxing. There was a plan to go climbing but that jsut never happened. And it didnt really help that my head was very unhappy all Saturday thanks the the craziness that is tequila on Firday night!!!

Friday night saw Miss M and Lopz and I meeting up with KaB before she fled the country...not because of anything illegal (that would be my ex your thinking of) She is just heading back home. Seriously do not feed me tequila !!! It does crazy wild things to me and I cannot be held accountable for my actions (other then the fact that alcohol is never an excuse for cheating on the one you love and I never have under the influence!) Drinking turning into lots of rauncy dancing and trying out "how low can you go" while still wearing 5 inch heels!! Apparently I did win at this and I think that my ab muscles can testify to that as they are STILL hurting like crazy !!!

This was all well and good and I dont care about embarressing myself in front of friends and strangers... But C then brought his new boss around to the bar...Oh dear... I so wonder what the hell he thinks about me now! I also just have to say I just love having a non-possesive and secure bf!! I can be me and wild and have however many guys purving over me and he will just smile and laugh and I go prancing up to him for more kisses :) Happy days!

I must say that thank heavens for the Macdonalds near by!! (we used to do the burger king but that was until it got closed down for health hazard reasons!!! AHHHH ) So after craming down 2 little cheese burgers (they are really little btw) my stomach wasnt feeling so queasy! C and I were then thinking so along the same lines and hailed and cab, settled in and got chauffered home...that is def the best option by far !! I think the long jounery via the bumpy bus would have just killed me !

I def think though that the 2 days of doing nothing really helped my energy levels and monday at work was so much more doable and I got SO much done AND was still energetic by the end of the day... C and I then headed off to the climbing wall and had an awesome climbing session. Just right to get us back into the flow again.

And now it has been a very boring Tuesday at work since Trendy was off in Amsterdam on work and I dont have much to do here. I would def rather have more to do then try and eeek out a little for the whole day !

Party Weekend

I cant believe how fast the last week has gone and that i havent gotten any posts out! Especially since I've had a very eventful week at that.
Friday was a much better day mostly just because I decided that it was going to be and it was of course nearly weekend and we have a fun filled weekend ahead !!
We got some climbing in before heading out to see a workmate, Mrs Quiet's husbands band play. Climbing was at first frustrating and I was getting my confidence seriously shaken but then we found a set of routes that I really enjoyed and flashed my first 5A (I know that means very little to most of you out there but I was struggling with that grade and always had to struggle with it so was great to do it first time) Rushing off straight after that with the adrenaline pumping through my veins we headed back into central London.

The band, A Quiet Minute, who arent very quiet were great and since it was only their second live performance it was very impressive. But the big shock/gossip of the evening was when the 2 senior designers from work that had joined us made it very clear that they were now dating by very publicly snogging over the bar. Now that was entertaining. The evening as a whole was great, there was such a good vibe and C and I just enjoyed being in the moment together!

Saturday was a very late start since we had only crawled into bed at 4am. Mostly the day was just lounging around and C off playing shoot em up computer games with the housemate... this was until they then decided to finally hang up the coat rack. This was def a very entertaining experience ...boys are funny ! Firstly there is the whole debate about generally were the electrics are in the wall and the basically just decided to drill and see what happens. At least they did think to turn off the electricity. Then they proceed to have a great debate about how to hang the two pieces together. We havent hung it for almost a year now cause of missing pieces (washers) but strangely enough they now landed up with pieces left over. Now to position it. I would just like to point out that using the straight edge of a book to line up holes that are further apart then the spine of the book isnt a good idea ! but anyway. Being boys it was basically about using the power tools of course. The best part was when the housemate would just wander off with the torch and leave C drilling in the dark. This resulted in C finding his head torch which just looked hysterical!! So through the whole process I got to sit back and watch in fits of giggles.

We had plans to head off to a party at a club in town called Abacus which was organised by a bunch of Trinidadians of which one of my workmates is part of (him being Trinidadian and all). The committee that holds these parties once a month in London is called busspepper and seriously have a look at the website and head to one of their parties sometime. It was touch and go about whether we we going to go being all exhausted from the party the night before but we did land up going and having a fab time !! What a nice happy chilled out party vibe !! It was packed but everyone was SO friendly! It felt like the same vibe we would have partying in Cape Town. We had such a good time getting all hot and sweaty on the dance floor and got to be all ranchy and stuff - even tho C and I were so not ranchy compared to the grinding that the Carribean people like to do ! I was very impressed that we stayed at the club till 3am but hey time flies when your having fun !!

And sunday was pure recovery day and recharging for Korn the following night.... but that will have to be another blog soon :)

Anthony McCall

On Friday the entire design dept got to take off the afternoon and head off to an art exhibition. The exhibition was at the Serpentine Gallery in Hyde Park and was showing the work of a British artist called Anthony McCall . More info on the exhibition here.

This is one of the most amazing exhibitions that i've seen. You were complete invloved and interacting with the installation. As you walked through the projectected light it would change and morph and we had great fun doing silly things with the projections to make the other designers laugh.

He is a truely multi talented person with a highly evolved sense of the world and its working. Hes maths and architecture as well as film and drawing. He is the balance between logical and creative. Theses were very mathamatical instalations with titled 'Between you and me'. So they are very personal and human at the same time and the more time that you spend interacting with the installation you can see what he is trying to say about human interaction without even having to be intellectual about it.

This was def an experience that I wont forget!

After the exhibition a few of use stayed on to have cocktails at the nearest bar and then headed off for dinner in Soho on a friday night. So if you live here you will know that it is almost impossible to find a resturant with a table for 7 people if you havent booked as they are all so popular and the area is so busy that you have to wait in queues for pretty much every resturant!

Somehow my boss talked his way into a resturant called Floridita. This is def an awesome place to go for a night out! We had a huge booth table which fitted the 7 of us perfectly. It is a cuban restruant and we even had a live cuban band providing entertainment. As dinner when on and we ate some stunning food. I had the most devine steak, it slowly becomes a club as well with couples coming onto the lovely wooden dance floor infront of the tables and dancing. But we are not talking the bored club type dancing, I'm talking the real deal !! Salsa and jive and tango and all the latin dancing that you can think of. And everyone could dance like professionals - it was great to watch. I did land up spending sometime on the dance floor later with a fellow designer with us just having fun and looking seriously amatur as we just danced to our own style (i.e. none what so ever). I def recommend this place to anyone wanting a good night out!

The evening did take a strange slant with a senior deisgner and myself in the sex shop having a great laugh and him chasing me round with a FAT chick blow up doll box! Was def a great friday night out !
